Exploring the Asteroids in Astrology and Ancestry - Seeking the Evidence and Finding it - Part 1
Seeking to explore the asteroids and their depth of meaning in an astrological chart and to find evidence in transit events and potential ancestral-reincarnation alignments.
Let me be clear, I am a self taught astrologer who has been piecing together learning over 3 decades. I am not an astronomer (though I secretly wish I was). In the later years, likely with the advent of more access to information, my astrology has grown exponentially because I like to research things to the ends of time.
I occasionally stumbled upon incredible alignments, yet when I tried to share these findings with some noted astrologers that I admire online, I consistently encountered the paywalls of various media platforms.
My intention was not to seek a chart reading analysis, but simply to share direct information, hoping they might also share it forward. To date, I haven't been able to connect with a single one of them.
Then I discovered - over there and here on my private website, I can share my astrological discoveries freely, along with the evidence I've uncovered. It is my sincere hope that you might utilize these findings to further benefit your own astrological practice and research.
My process often begins with intuition—a small tickle, a sense that something holds more than meets the eye. For many years, astrology felt mystifying. I was searching books and websites, I found some interesting astrologers on YouTube — but I felt like there was still something was missing. I still struggle to word it - I was searching for that bigger cosmic connection — or maybe it was evidence of the Divine?
“Astrological urges are not existent just because of the position of the Sun, Moon or any of the planets at the time of birth: but rather because the soul of the entity is part of the universal consciousness, and has dwelt in those environs…” ( Edgar Cayce Reading #2132-L-1)
And that fatalistic sense we get when we hear about the less than savory side of planetary energy - IE: the Saturn Return, Mercury retrograde, that kind of thing.
But I will post evidence in these upcoming posts that speak to the opposite of those above mentioned planets and more.
While the psychological aspects of the wandering stars and other heavenly bodies interested me, I yearned to explore the journey of the Soul. I had had a number of astral-mystic experiences over decades that showed me that this Cosmos was far more than met the eye. I sensed that the bigger answers were there, but I didn't know where to look or how to even formulate the question to acquire the information I was seeking.
In recent years, my exploration of the theosophical Esoteric Astrology, Rudolf Steiner's astrosophy, the extensive cosmic insights of Edgar Cayce, and the work of greats like Heather Ensworth, William Meader, Michael Robbins, Stephen Arroyo, Richard Tarnas and Liz Greene were just a few more who truly opened up my understanding in very different ways.
I don't adhere to a single astrological methodology, as I see immense value in the many. As a close friend and vedic astrologer once put it, different astrological methods are like photographing a person from different angles—each offering a different, yet equally accurate, perspective. After years of exploring diverse approaches, I wholeheartedly agree. They all work - seriously …
Now my learning journey has led me back into the archives of earlier astrologers like Sepharial and Dane Rudhyar, Raphael, William Lily, and Alan Leo, delving into Rosicrucian, Medieval and Max Heindl explorations to name just a few, touching on Arabic Lots, exploring harmonic, evolutionary and Hellenistic methods, encompassing both well-known and more obscure (but not obscure in wisdom) names.
I also have a restless and time-consuming passion for unearthing older and pre-20th century publications. (I am relentless about finding these publications and spend copious amounts on printer paper, binders and ink! Haha!)
I allow my intuition to guide my astrological research. In the case of this particular article ( and finally back on topic), the Asteroid Angel leads the way, and indeed, there were and continue to be many "aha" moments to be found.
Discovering Asteroid Angel
I found this particular Asteroid skimming the 25,000+ list of asteroids to be found at Astro.com . Happening across it, I thought “How lovely! To name an asteroid Angel” (yes, it’s kind of simplistic, but that is what I thought at that time)
But that also brought to mind bigger questions - who discovered it and when? What inspired them to name this body Angel (particularly because planets and other heavenly bodies tended to represent something from mythology reflected in the current events and culture of the day) What were the astrological energies and implications (if any) represented by an Asteroid that was named Angel?
The Basic Facts:
The asteroid 11911 Angel was discovered on June 4, 1992, by the prolific astronomers Eleanor F. Helin and David H. Levy at the Palomar Observatory.
Asteroids are typically named by their discoverers or through proposals accepted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
And while no official citation could be discovered, it was thought and assumed that the Asteroid Angel was named after a specific person, not just a symbolic , celestial or personal concept
.
“The asteroid honors Roger Angel (born 1941), an influential astronomer and director at the University of Arizona’s Steward Observatory mirror lab. Roger Angel “has spearheaded the development of telescope mirrors as large as eight meters in diameter by a process called spin-casting. His work and ideas have resulted in an enormous increase in telescope light-gathering power.” (Small-Body Database Lookup)

The asteroid is 27 kilometers in size, or comparable to the size of Boulder Colorado or Cambridge, UK.

And from SpaceReference.org the Asteroid Angel Orbits between Mars and Jupiter and is 99% larger then the asteroids discovered to date. A complete orbit is considered to be 2090 days, or 5.72 years. And this asteroid moves at a speed of 16.64 km/second.
Now - back to the astrological side of Asteroid Angel
There are many meanings affixed to this asteroid: most commonly divine and/or spiritual protection, guidance, inspiration. It is also seen as innocence, purity and a connection to the Angelic realm
My food for thought:
Let’s see how this stacks up in real-life charts.
Chart #1
Synastry Chart of my father (inner wheel) and myself (on the outer wheel). Asteroid Angel is exactly conjunct at 15 degrees Leo ( in what would be my 9th house of the Higher Mind)

Food for thought - what are the odds that I, born in October of 1966 would share the EXACT same asteroid placement of my father who was born in April of 1944 — in the 360 degree zodiacal wheel, 22 1/2 years apart.
But it gets more interesting - enter my grandmother’s chart. Her sun is exact at 15 degrees Leo, also sharing mine and my father’s Asteroid Angel also at 15 degrees Leo. ( there is more of a story to come on this shortly ) Chart shows my grandmother on the inner ring and my father on the outer.

I recognize there are many other factors - but I am seeking the ‘divine’ link and that suggestion of a reincarnational - soul thread, whatever the direct ancestry or bloodline.
Some back story to fill in some unique facts:
My grandmother (the 2nd wife of my grandfather) lost a baby to stillbirth through traumatic circumstances in her early 30’s and she was unable to conceive again. When she and my grandfather sought to adopt, they were deemed too old by the adoption agencies at 35 and 46 years old -
And they posted an ad in the provincial newspaper in 1944 seeking to adopt an infant.
(And that was not an uncommon practice as I came to discover when researching old newspapers and working on ancestry.)
A young war nurse had conceived a child out of wedlock in that time with a soldier - and the young woman’s family contacted my Grandma (dad’s adoptive parents) indicating this baby was due near the end of April. And Dad was born on April 30th.
The adoption was an open adoption though Dad was not told that he was adopted till around 12. But the two mothers, the adoptive and biological mother shared loving updates. I always had 2 extra sets of elder relatives/grandparents as a child though never knew why till I was into adulthood. Grandma “Mina” and “Uncle” Steve (Istvan) and their spouses.
Losing that first baby in such tragic circumstances was the heartache of my grandmother’s life and she poured everything into this new baby Bobby. And she was my “Grandma”, my truest beloved grandma and the one I spent all of my time with. For that matter, she was the biggest influence of my life and much of whom I am today, I attribute to her.
Grandma was the essence of the Sun in full bloom at the 15th degree midpoint of Leo, magnanimous, vibrant, sharing and generous, musical, interested and interesting.
She was also keenly psychic and likely a medium, though I was not given many opportunities to understand that deeper when I was young - but I was present for a few “happenings” — these were simply “things that you just don’t talk about”.
My Dad was a good and devoted son and loved his Mom whole-heartedly though I sense he was privately troubled. So many things were not talked about back then and people kept their hurt, questions and thoughts to themselves… He never spoke of his true feelings.
He died suddenly a dozen years later at the age of 44, a day before his 45th birthday.
But — seeing my Dad’s Asteroid Angel exactly conjunct on the exact degree of my grandmother’s Sun, followed 22 years later by my own Asteroid Angel exactly conjunct on his Leo Asteroid Angel and also my Grandma’s Leo Sun told me something about “divine” lineage and healing —
We tend to think of ancestral family as bloodlines - but what if that lineage is Love.
And there is something about these charts where Asteroid Angel speaks to a different kind of lineage, it speaks to Soul family…
I have more posts that dig deeper in areas specific to Asteroid Angel, but I will be posting them in Part 2 and Part 3.
Please feel free to share your thoughts on this, I welcome your input!
And thank you for sharing your time with me.
Big blessings,
Julie
